A leading industrial & commercial boiler manufacturer retained EKG’s Environmental Engineers to consult on their hazardous waste streams. The facility had been shipping out hazardous waste for years under waste codes that had no documented analysis, or rationality for the selected waste codes. R.R.O Regulation 347 – General Waste Management requires that analysis and identification be determined, to ensure proper waste characterization occurs to prevent issues with shipment or at waste sites.
EKG audited the waste streams and had laboratory analysis performed on all waste streams to ensure that the waste characterizations were correct. The result was a correction to several waste streams, which resolved an issue of non-compliance with the regulation, and as an added benefit reduced the costs of waste disposal created by incorrect classification.
