Office-Ergnomic-AssessementA provincial division with a global energy sector company was struggling to keep up with office ergonomic assessments across multiple office sites. The internal OHS Specialist was trying to complete some of the work load based on their limited ergonomic knowledge, but the majority of the work was being contracted out, and costs were becoming significant. EKG was contracted to build and roll-out an Office Ergonomic Assessment Program within the organization.

EKG developed the internal standard for office ergonomics that outlined the processes associated with initiating, and following-up on an office ergonomic assessment, via standardized forms and documentation. An Office Ergonomics Team formed with representatives from the various office sites. Team members received training in the fundamentals of ergonomics and the process of conducting an office ergonomic assessment, using the documentation developed.

EKG continues to support the company with updates to program documentation and training new members of the Office Ergonomics Team.

The company was able to build competency within their organization for conducting office ergonomic assessments, while saving significant costs associated with external consultants in many cases.
