Hearing the Risk
Noise Compliance, Audiometry, and What Bill 105 Could Mean for Your Plant
A free 2.25-hour information session for Stratford-area manufacturers — hosted at the EK Gillin & Associates office.
Why This Workshop?
Ontario's occupational noise requirements are well established — industrial hygiene assessments, hearing protection programs, audiometric testing on hire and at defined frequencies, and a duty to respond when Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) claims arise. Meeting the bar is one thing. Demonstrating you've met it, on a workday when an inspector or an adjudicator asks, is another.
At the same time, Ontario's proposed Bill 105 — widely referred to as the "Super Bill" — would create a voluntary online registry for worker exposures. As drafted, it targets designated substance exposures rather than noise. But the architecture is the same, and once a registry of this kind exists, it's straightforward to widen its scope.
Manufacturers who are already running tight noise and audiometry programs will find that easier to absorb than those who are not.
Intimate & Practical
This workshop is built specifically for the people who own occupational health and compliance work at your plant. It's free, it's two and a quarter hours, and you'll see and get hands-on with the equipment in the room.
What You'll Take Away
Walk away with actionable strategies, compliance clarity, and practical knowledge you can implement immediately.
Legal Compliance Clarity
Understand Ontario's current legal obligations for occupational noise — including assessment expectations, hearing protection program duties, and audiometric testing requirements.
Live Dosimetry Demos
See live demonstrations of noise dosimetry equipment, so you can understand what a defensible, audit-ready exposure measurement looks like in practice.
Real-World Protection Evaluated
Get a working framework for evaluating the actual, real-world effectiveness of the hearing protection your workers wear — not just the rated attenuation on the box.
Shoebox Audiology Demo
See a live demonstration of Shoebox Audiology, the modern industrial audiometry solution, and learn how pre-hire and periodic results feed into your prevention program.
Bill 105 Briefing
Get a plain-English briefing on Bill 105 (the "Super Bill"), what the proposed exposure registry would cover, and what it could mean for noise reporting if expanded.
NIHL Claims Management
Acquire a practical, legally compliant approach to managing and responding to WSIB Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) claims when they arise at your plant.
Select Your Session
To keep the equipment demonstrations and discussion useful, attendance is strictly capped at 8 participants per session. Select your preferred session below to register.

No. The workshop is entirely free of charge. Complimentary drinks and locally sourced snacks are provided during the session.
This is an in-person, small-group session held at EKG's physical office in Stratford. We bring out the actual noise dosimetry equipment and the tablet-based Shoebox Audiology system so attendees can see the tools in operation, ask questions about their own facilities, and discuss real cases in a collaborative room.
To keep the equipment demonstrations and discussion useful. With a maximum of eight people in the room, every attendee has the opportunity to get hands-on with the dosimeters, look over the audiometric testing setups, and raise specific questions regarding their own site layout and compliance challenges.
Yes, within the 8-seat per-session cap. If you would like to register a small team (e.g. EHS manager and Plant manager), we recommend splitting them across the two days so that each session retains its intimate, small-group character. If you find your desired session is full, you can register to be added to our waitlist.
Yes. Although Bill 105 ("Super Bill") as currently proposed targets designated substance exposures rather than noise or Noise-Induced Hearing Loss, we are including it because the registry's framework could easily be expanded in the future to cover noise. Manufacturers with strong, digitally tracked noise data systems will be positioned to absorb these potential changes far more easily. We will cover what the bill actually says, what it currently covers, and where the practical implications for a manufacturing site sit.
